PLANNING - More inspirations (Lara)
For the news report we could also take inspiration from the fake news report that is shown when you are waiting in the cue for Swarm the ride in Thorpe Park. It was created to place fear in those waiting in the cue and to pretend that deadly creatures were around and the public was in danger. The sound the use in the background and the panicked look on the reporters face could be something we take inspiration from as that's the feeling that we want to get across about the children going missing.

PLANNING- Mise-En-Scene, COSTUME, MAKE-UP & PROPS (Marina)
PLANNING- Sound Design (Marina)
Sound Design
at the beginning of our title sequence, we will have
mostly diegetic sound (door creak, harsh breathing and loud footsteps) and then
we will had a heartbeat that will eventually get louder. Once it gets louder it
will go along with a soundtrack we will design (non-diegetic) that will go
along the rest of the title sequence until the end . For this we decided it was
going to be a tense and eerie sound that will go along with the style and genre
of opening we have chosen. We also decided that we were going to add motifs to
the titles to create a more realistic horror scheme (it is also a cliche in most
horrors) .Towards the end there is a scene where the main character falls over,
at this point the sound will go completely silent which will build up tension
and will make the film more scary.
The title credits that have inspired us are Se7en,
Dawn of the dead (motifs) and American Horror Story.

Technology skills audit (by Denya)
Technology skills audit:
Technology (hardware or software) we have learnt to use consists of:
The camera which is obviously needed when creating a film of some sort. We learnt how to correctly zoom in/out, put memory cards or the battery in, we leant when to put the n/r filter on (which is very rarely needed as it should only be used when very sunny). Learning how to use the camera correctly is very handy as it insures you know when things need to be in focus, need zooming in/out etc. it has also helped develop our project slightly as when we did our prelim we forgot to turn the n/r filter off which caused some scenes to look a little off.
The portable light which is very useful when creating shadows and finding the right amount of light. The portable light is very simply to use you just simply have to turn the dial to get the right amount of light you are looking for. This has helped develop our project as when doing our remake it allowed as it create shadows and get light round different angles etc.
The tripod which helps when keeping the camera steady and at the right angle when filming.Using a tripod has helped making our filming looking a little more polished and clear as there are no shaky movements from your hands.
Affect effects allows you to put music and several effects over your film. Affect effects allows you to make your film more interesting.

PLANNING - Title sequence order (By Lara and Denya)
We looked at two horror films with similar plots and characters to see the title sequence orders. This is a power point showing the orders for Saw and Halloween.

Character costume (planning)
Character name:
Emily Mccall
Emily Mccall is one of the 'doctors' victims. Mccall had managed to escape the torture and experiments the doctors has inflicted on her but the idea of freedom slowly fades away as when she is running away from the abandoned building she hears foot steps not to close behind her these footsteps happen to belong to the doctors who soon catch up to her as she trips allowing them to be face to face with the terrified teenage girl, her clothes are worn, dirty and covered in blood to show the struggle that she has occurred. She is in normal casual clothing showing she is just a regular teenager as she was kidnapped while taking a walk through the forest after seeing friends. She has dark circles from the lack of sleep and blood running down her neck and face from the brutal treatment the doctors had given her.
Emily represents this idea that it is mostly teenage girls who are in danger and face the most risk of being taken.
PLANNING: Use of sound in student title sequences
31. Pharez Vitalis, Eray Kara, Yuksel Yilmaz, Jakub Jozefowicz from 283goswell on Vimeo.
This was my favourite video. This is because the sound used within the video is very professional and goes well with the clips and how the people are reacting/acting. This helps show the genre but also doesn't give away a lot of the plot away to the audience.
PLANNING: Own target audience profile
Male target audience profile:
Name: Steve Matterson
Location: Surrey (Rural area)
Age: 22 years old
Class Middle/Working class
Occupation: Phone operator (Call center)
Personality: A left wing man with some reserved/unpopular opinions. A bit of a 'Lad'
Hobbies and interests: Sports (mainly football and rugby) a Cheeky Nandos with the lads and military practice
Brands they consume: Topman, Sainsbury's, Nandos, Amazon
Media they consume:Netflix, YouTube, Television, Horror movies
Female target audience profile:

Name: Rosie Wright
Location:London (City/urban area)
Age: 26
Class:Working class
Occupation: Retail worker
Personality:Quirky, slightly emo, introvert
Hobbies and Interests:Shopping, watching horror movies and going to gigs
Brands they consume: H&M, Hot Topic, Urban Outfitters
Media they consume: Kerrang magazine, American Horror Story, Doctor Who, Rolling Stones Magazine
PLANNING: Who is my target and what do they think?
My target audience is mainly male aged between 22-26 although the target audience can be female too but the female audience would typically be around 24+. This is because many people used in horror films are young females in their early 20's but because the female target audience is older they wouldn't feel as if they are the victim, which in turn would make them feel much more comfortable while watching.

PLANNING: Individual idea for title sequence
The genre we will be focusing on is horror. The initial ideas were the young teenage girl running away from something that is yet unknown to the audience.

Although many of the group ideas where not mine, I came up with the idea of heart beating getting faster as the unknown get closer to the girl. I also thought about using Paranormal activity as a reference to this because in the movies we never actual see the paranormal things, we only see what they do to the people.

Lastly the main characters are the girl and the three things that we don't fully see, as we only see parts of their face.
