This suggests that possibly the quality of animated movies is better in comparison to comedy movies. Suggesting there is not much correlation between quantity and how successful the genre is.

Which 3 films were most popular with the 7-14 age group? What does this tell us about their preferred genre?
Wreck-it Ralph, Despicable Me 2 and Monsters University, This gives us the information that children between the ages of 7 and 14 prefer animation films

The three most popular films with the 35-44 age were Frozen, the Croods and Jack and the Giant Slayer. It is likely this is because people of this age tend to have a family with young children so they have to take them as they can't go alone. Animation possibly does better for this reason as children tend to go the cinema in large numbers so the parents will be paying for their children, themselves and possibly their children's friends.

Which 3 films were most popular with 25-34 age group?
Django Unchained, Fast & Furious 6 and Rush

Which films were most popular with the middle class audiences?
Rush, Captain Phillips and Gravity (C1)
Oz the Great and Powerful, Fast & Furious 6 and Despicable Me 2 (C2)

The difference between London and Scotland is that London appreciates more diversity in their films where as in Scotland they appear to like most films based on home-grown characters and locations.
