Evaluation (planning)

Evaluation

For our remark we had a choice of six title sequences. We decided to choose the title sequence to the film 'SE7EN'. We chose this title sequence as our chosen genre is horror. Out of the six title sequences we felt as though this title sequence was the most fitting with our genre. This title sequence also appeared to me the most interesting as it consists of many of shots, in dark settings.

Overall, our filming went well. We worked with what we had and tried to recreate the title sequence to the best of our ability. We used a portable light which came in very useful when creating shadows and finding the right amount of light as we were filming in the dark for most of our filming. We also used a tripod which helped when keeping the camera steady and at the right angle when filming.

Everyone participated in the editing process we all worked together to insure everything was in right order and lasted for a reasonable time. This was difficult at some moments as we did not every shot that is included in the 'SE7EN' title sequence. We used different effects to try and make the remake and the original title sequence as similar as we could. We used the opacity setting to overlap two shots by making one quite see-through. In after effects we had a wide range of text options so we tried to find one that appeared to look most like handwriting as the text in 'SE7EN' is handwritten. We had used the same background as what was used for the original title sequence as we felt this most appropriate. In after effects we also used the 'jiggy' effect on the text as this looked like the same affect used in the seven title sequence, this worked very well as noticed in the final cut it as is quite fast in past.

As a whole I think our remake was successful although we did face some trouble as we lost our edited video during the process so this had to be done again which left us with less time when editing. Overall, I think we worked well with what we had, we used a wide range of props and we worked well when filming as our camera angels and shots were similar to the original title sequence.
